To provide exceptional services for its members in the core areas of Education, Training/Mentoring, Communication, Recertification and Business Development             

 

Membership

The National Society of Real Estate Appraisers is dedicated to promoting the highest standards of professionalism among its members. To become certified by the Society, Candidate Appraisers must meet rigorous educational and experience requirements and comply with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice as promulgated by the Appraisal Foundation. Appraisers who have earned the right to display one of the symbols have been through a comprehensive test of their knowledge and skill, one of the best in the industry.

The NSREA symbol identifies an appraiser who will render an objective and unbiased valuation, giving thorough consideration to all factors and circumstances. Guided by the Uniform Standard of Professional Appraisal Practice, an appraiser certified by NSREA provides Knowledge, Experience, Integrity and Professional Service to his or her clients in solving simple or complex appraisal assignments.

The following statements are from NSREA's constitution.

  • To formulate rules of ethics and professional conduct and enforce these rules for the benefit of its members and those serious about joining the Society.

  • To examine carefully all applications for membership, conduct examinations in all major subjects directly related to real estate appraising and its allied fields, through the National Office of the Society.

  • To award professional designations to successful applicants after completion of a prescribed course of study and final examination of "(CERTIFIED REAL ESTATE APPRAISER), " the abbreviation of which shall be the letters in capital (R.A.)

  • To provide an equal opportunity and give direction to all interested men and women.

  • To exchange ideas and to advance the profession of real property evaluation through education and experience

  • To encourage each member to preserve and increase their competency as an appraiser.
